About this deal

I always enjoy Appleton White (now re-branded as Kingston 62) and this certainly ticks all the boxes that make that rum so good for mixing. Combining natural herbs and fruit steeped in apricot kernel oil, Disaronno has a heady and floral scent which follows through to its flavour.

I would definitely tend to mix this rather than have it simply neat, but I wouldn’t mind a shot or three. Duppy Share Caribbean Rum is made using a combination of premium rums that are sourced for their provenance.

The coconut notes blend wonderfully with a sweet molasses flavour which delivers an almost dairy-like flavour, inviting and essential for the most exotic Caribbean cocktails. If you want to make a friend mix 1 part Duppy with 2 parts quality ginger beer and add a big squeeze of lime into a DOF glass stuffed with ice. In fairness when it comes to the rum world it is understandable that people are suspicious of “brands” and stories surrounding the brand. The General Wine Company sources wines from all over the world, but with a particular focus on small, independent producers. Under this very attractive bottle, Duppy Share rum is a blend of rums from Barbados (Foursquare), aged 3 years in American oak barrels and rums of 5 years of age from Jamaica, distillery and estate of W orthy Park then bottled in London by The Wesbourne Drinks Co.

Having spoken with the people behind Duppy White they are trying to offer people drinking Bacardi Superior and “house” Supermarket rum a more flavourful and authentic rum experience. The label features oodles of references to Kano's life and Jamaican culture, styled similarly to a 7-inch record. Of course, since these Caribbean spirits love rum, only the best of the best are stolen - This is 'Duppy Share'. They also mention the rum is designed to work both neat and in cocktails, but that remains to be seen – after all my opinion is absolute! Presentation wise the rum comes in the familiar stubby, rounded The Duppy Share bottle complete with chunky cork topper.Rich, indulgent flavour notes are balanced out with lighter, more chocolatey-sour ones as the younger and older rums react to each other.

You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. The addition of mango, peppercorn, lemongrass, and other culinary ingredients to the profile adds depth, resulting in a genuinely distinctive and full-bodied experience. The colour scheme has been adapted to the colours of the Jamaican Flag so we have a green, black and yellow colour scheme. On the palate, indulgent flavours of butter fudge, caramel and condensed milk delicately marry with accents of apricot, vanilla and nutmeg. The packaging is eye catching with a stubby bottle and a label that projects the musical and Jamaican inspiration nicely with bright and vibrant colours.
