About this deal

Much like Sorcery of Thorns reminded me of the power books wield, Mysteries of Thorn Manor reminded me of the love they carry, too. This led to many humourous moments, some action, and some exploration into the history of both the Thorn family and the manor itself. Silas was a character I really liked while reading Sorcery of Thorns and my feelings on his haven’t changed and will never change. The manor has its own stubborn and hilarious personality, and it's funny to see it interact with Elisabeth especially. not every story has a happy ending, but most do, if you’re brave enough to keep reading until the end.

If anything, this story reminded me that I likely enjoyed Sorcery of Thorns more for its characters than anything else in the book. It isn't a full length sequel (or a true sequel at all, I would argue), but rather a bonus novella with a lighthearted mystery/romance plot. No one can come in or leave the manor, and things only seem to get worse when violent topiaries and deadly winds get thrown into the mix.I hope we do get some sort of companion novels about new characters taking place in this same world someday.

I’m gonna be honest, before I started reading this, I didn’t really remember much from the previous book so I did have to read a couple summaries I found online, but after I started remembering who the characters were and what had happened, I was so happy to be back into this world. Trading Address (Warehouse) Unit E, Vulcan Business Complex, Vulcan Road, Leicester, Leicestershire, LE5 3EB.I had only re-read Sorcery a few short weeks before picking up this novella, and yet I still found that I had missed Elisabeth so very much. It may be worth noting that Elisabeth, Nathaniel, and Silas have a much different idea of what constitutes "life-threatening" than the average person. Mysteries of Thorn Manor depicts so much domestic bliss that we really get a chance to see how silly and playful he is with Elisabeth on a daily basis, and it's delightful. It is what every reader hopes for from their favourite universes - a little novella of pure fluff and domestic bliss: drama-free, funny, sweet and so much fun.

Surely it must be a coincidence that this happened just as Nathaniel and Elisabeth started getting closer to one another . I understand I can change my preference through my account settings or unsubscribe directly from any marketing communications at any time. Scrivener, I know this goes against your red-blooded warrior nature, but if you see anything pointy, please make an effort to resist. I could not possibly recommend this book more highly and I have once again been reminded of why Margaret is now and forevermore one of my favorite authors of all time.

And Nathaniel… I laughed so hard and so often throughout this short little book, because his wit absolutely shines here. In this novella we follow Elizabeth and Nathaniel after the events of Sorcery of Thorns as they navigate new challenges within Thorn Manor this time. I laughed, I melted, and I shamelessly cried happy tears more than once within this short span of pages.
