Are you saying that the 'arrangement' with Allan and his book is 'ethical' now given the fact that this has lead to a bothy closure. To follow your logic what would you say if Oxfam took cash from an arms company? The bothy on the island is free for all to use. Officially, it can sleep six people, however, in reality, the floor space allows for many more than that. As with all bothies, if you use this rest stop, you should leave it in better condition than you found it. An enclosed porch opens into a single room with a small sleeping platform in an alcove to the left of the entrance and a fireplace. The platform can comfortably sleep 2 people with space below it for 2 more. A wooden floor, panelling and insulation has made the bothy cosier and the whitewashed stonework on the hearth wall reflects more light.I'm failing to see your logic here. Surely each bothy closure has to be evaluated in each case? The 'rate of closure' is truly irrelevant to the fact that a bothy will now be closed due to bothy commercialisation by the Bothy Bible and arguably the MBA's role in supporting it. I say again, how many bothies must close due to the Bothy Bible before you consider it to be as big of a problem as any other reasons? 2, 4, 20..? I have, unfortunately, had to re-state the points as a few folk have deliberately tried to deflect the argument with various smokescreens from the OP, not to mention personal insults. Stop off at Samye Ling Tibetan Buddhist monastery west of the bothy; the tea room is decorated in traditional Tibetan style.
