About this deal

eero Secure is included as standard with Three’s offering, providing additional virus protection and more to every connected device in your home.

These routers extend the signal throughout your entire home, eliminating Wi-Fi blank spots and speed drops. Some caveats to start with: the speeds enjoyed by a laptop, say, that is wired to the router itself will exceed the speeds you’ll get wirelessly from the same router. This allows the Eero 6 to be used as the base router for a mesh or to connect wired devices to the network.A mesh built on the faster tri-band Eero Pro will keep up a bit better but still won't be a great fit. To get started, you will need a compatible eero router and a compatible Echo device to extend coverage. It’s worth noting that the first two speed tests here were taken while I was connected to the main Eero 6 router, which I’d set up in the living room. The main difference is that the Eero 6 has two auto-sensing Ethernet ports that can be used for either input or wired devices. Helpfully, the adapters have pass-through sockets in them so you can still plug other gadgets in as well.

This means there are multiple sources of connectivity around your house instead of just a single router. When I follow directions for discovering devices with "Built-in Eero", that option doesn't appear on my Eero app. Once your network is running, the main screen of the app shows the status of your internet connection, and of your Eero nodes. It’s good to have these options, but we’re not sure why they’re still stuck in beta – other routers have had full WPA3 support for more than two years now. The Eero 6 nodes are moulded in shiny white plastic, with a wedge-shaped design that makes them look sleeker than they really are. I have the TalkTalk 'eero 6' (model N010001) connected to my TT 150Mbps fibre connection (via wired ethernet).

The extenders don’t have Ethernet ports, so the Eero 6 can’t directly support wired devices in other rooms. And rather than directly connecting the unit to my iPad, I can still use “network mode” because there will be a decent signal coming from the kitchen.

I’m using a Virgin Media Super Hub 3 (which I’ve set to modem mode when using the Eero 6) for comparison. The only spanner in the works is that you might consider opting for the Eero 6 Pro instead if it is similarly discounted in a Prime Day or Black Friday sale. The range of different colours can be a bit bamboozling but it means there’s no ambiguity as to what the Eero is trying to tell you. eero intelligently detects when your eero devices are already providing great coverage and to disable eero Built-in on your Echo device as needed.

New parents who want to improve the connectivity of their baby monitor in the nursery—while they get some much-needed rest. In addition, you will also need to use a Wi-Fi 6 compatible connected device to enjoy the full benefits of the eero 6+. Maximum network speeds, if applicable, reflect combined supported speeds across wired and wireless clients. Set up in minutes: the eero app walks you through adding an eero 6 extender and it’s backwards compatible with previous Wi-Fi generations. This also requires both adapters to be in the same room as you set up, and for you to move the second one later, which is a little counter-intuitive.This lets you apply content filters to specific devices, and schedule pauses, if you wanted to do things like enforce homework hours (assuming no internet is required). It sends that signal to other eero devices around your home to create your mesh Wi-Fi network and deliver whole home coverage.
