About this deal

Cushioning Insoles: We found these to be comfortable and breathable, but they did not offer any support.

By providing direct support to the arch, these insoles are designed to help relieve pain associated with plantar fasciitis and other foot-related issues, as well as keep the feet in proper alignment for reduced foot pressure and muscle fatigue for hard activity or long days on your feet. We tested these with our go-to summer Pumas and loved how they alleviated the calf and lower back pain we usually experience. With trademarked technology designed to cradle the foot’s arch, these are an excellent option for people seeking a high level of support. While this review can serve as a guideline for what the best insoles are like, if you suffer from foot pain, it should not be a replacement for medical advice from an expert in foot care. Made of high-quality materials, they also have a bamboo and charcoal mid-layer for help with moisture-wicking and odor control. They also include a thin yet very comfortable layer of memory foam cushion for comfort and an odor-neutralizing top layer. With moderate arch support, these are excellent for those with flat feet and can slip easily into any shoe.

The Superfeet brand shines in their low profile fit, however, with the Superfeet Carbon being the lightest, thinnest insoles we tested.

The Walk-Hero Comfort and Support are low-profile, rigid insoles that provide support for all arch types and are made to help alleviate symptoms of plantar fasciitis. My plantar fasciitis has eased off a lot and very quickly, and the feeling I get in general from the insoles is spongy but still supportive.

They're stiff and slip easily into your shoes, allowing you to put them into multiple pairs of shoes without hassle, and are low-profile enough not to take up too much room. One of our testers who has issues with leg pain and Morton's Neuroma wore these for runs, high intensity workouts, and with casual shoes for daily wear, and found that they provided significant pain relief. The Powerstep Pinnacle comes in at a close second for their low-volume insole, although both sacrifice some cushion for being thin and light.

The First Honey range are all proven sterile, therapeutic first aid products that can help reduce the need for antibiotics: everyone should have them in their bathroom cabinet. I so started wearing them and they were a little uncomfortable but only wear for a short time for your feet to get used to them. The Powerstep Pinnacle provides good support for the heel and arch and helps with pronation but doesn't provide any cushion for additional comfort. We really don’t want something soft; some people think if it’s just cushion [then] it’s going to help, but we don’t want that.

FootActive have been an NHS-approved supplier of orthotic insoles in the UK since 2010, in recognition of their effectiveness at correcting a wide range of foot problems. This inflammation causes intense heel pain and is common for runners, athletes, or those who spend a lot of time on their feet for work or other activities. I am on my feet about 8 hours a day on a hard floor for many years my feet have widened so I now need wide shoes. Their classic foam forefoot and strong plastic arch and heel support kept our feet well-supported and feeling good during testing.

Whether you're lacing up the best women's running shoes or the top trail running shoes, setting out on a long-distance trek in your hiking boots, or exploring a foreign city with your favorite backpack, we have you covered with in-depth reviews of the best shoes and boots on the market. Naturally, within the domain of sneakers comes odor, but these feature antimicrobial properties and have a good level of breathability, so moisture retention is minimized. John Kennedy, Chief of the Division of Foot and Ankle Surgery at NYU Langone Orthopedic, explains that there are two types of insoles: “Accommodating insoles, made to feel good and support the alignment of the foot, while offering protection from overloading; and corrective orthotics, designed to fit into a shoe and correct the mechanical malalignment of a person’s foot.
