The Farrellys were another story altogether! I felt inclined toward violence at their somewhat irrational behaviour and unreasonable expectations of Eden. The conniving manipulation measures that were used angered me immensely! Yes, I realize these were mainly done from a place of pain and I know they convinced themselves (and Eden) that they only had her best interests at heart, but the level of self-absorbtion and selfishness this all amounted to just made me so mad! https://history.blog.gov.uk/2015/12/01/whats-the-context-1-december-1925-signing-the-locarno-treaties/~But Eden is not the shy, weak wallflower that her mother-in-law Valerie and sister-in-law Michelle would prefer her to be. She has created a life for herself and Lila in the home that she and Andy shared. She’s got a job she loves as a carer, a hobby as a calligrapher, which is fast proving to be quite lucrative. She really does appreciate the help she gets from Valerie who looks after Lila while she works, but it does concern her that she needs to rely on her so much. As more and more women join in – all of whom find reassurance in swimming together – they begin to realise just what lifesavers the Salty Sea-Gals are. Oh this is such a wonderful read. To read Falling whilst flying would be a bit like reading Jaws whilst floating in the sea around The Hamptons in the US, but it’s a real humdinger of a read.

The last section of the novel is wonderful and I was so invested in the characters that events that happened actually brought a tear to my eye!

I also found Eden’s in-laws to be way out of line in terms of how she lives her life. I know they might have meant well but I think they went too far. Besides that qualm, I enjoyed being able to witness the budding relationship of Eden and Rafe turn into something much more than either expected. I also loved the detail O'Flanagan threw in about the letters Eden wrote to Andy, those were some of my favorite parts to read. Rust Publishing Ltd, 103 Bute Street, Cardiff, CF10 5NZ. As soon as I'm approved, I love to dive right in to NetGalley reads and abandon all other books for the time being. To start off this review, I have many thoughts. Since it took me a full week to read this book, that is the strongest indicator that I wasn't entranced by it; I usually finish books within three days. Next week on Home and Away in Australia, Cash and Detective Madden will go head to head in a dramatic showdown, as Cash tries to rescue Dana from his clutches. The premise of the story is so strong that I feel as though the repetition of the interference of Eden's mother-in-law overshadowed it in a way. Although I understand that the point of that was to showcase how dramatic/controlling she always was because she saw Eden as a link to her deceased son, I couldn't help but become annoyed with her reactions every single time Eden went around the house. They felt a bit overplayed and definitely caused me to be against her from the start.

This was such an enjoyable book and I couldn't put it down. The story really focused on the healing of both Eden and Rafe, but particularly Eden who had lost her spark after all the tragedy. It was lovely to see Eden's development. The book had a fabulous cast of side characters who bought a lot of laughs, especially Rafe's nosy neighbours and their WhatsApp group chats.
