About this deal

Follow this guide from arduino.cc about 'Updating the Atmega8U2 and 16U2 on an Uno or Mega2560 using DFU' but rather than using ' Arduino-usbserial-uno.hex' use the attched ' Arduino-keyboard-0.3.hex ' If you're using a Linux distribution like Ubuntu, the EyeToy should be supported out of the box. Simply plug it into a free USB port and it should be ready to use. This may differ from distribution to distribution, but with a little searching, you should be able to get it working.

For each new multiple modifier key-press you should get a newline with different values for 'xx'. Finally when you release all modifier keys 'xx' should become 00. Before updating the Atmega8U2 or 16U2(UNO Rev3) to identify our Arduino as a USB keyboard we should make sure all the conversion stuff is working correctly and the final final sketch is uploaded or otherwise it will be a major pain to keep over-writing the firmware again and again between the Original and USB-keyboard hex files just so you could upload the correct sketch. This becomes especially true if you don't have any external programmer like a USBasp or another Arduino to use as a ISP. So here we will upload a 'DEBUG' version of the final sketch with a human readable output(through the serial monitor) to test things out.

Only the buttons also present on normal controllers work (i.e the lower part of the remote, excluding the ENTER button). The polling interval must also be set to 16ms or longer. and if you press new key d with value 'nn' without releasing key a or key b your output should change to,

Only recognizes button presses when pressing two buttons on the controller, or hitting the controller. You'll need the same PlayStation 2 to USB dongle that you need to plug in a controller. Simply plug the dongle into the adapter, plug that into your PC, and you'll be able to use the remote with your PC. If your PS2 DVD remote is otherwise going to waste, this is a nice way to make use of it. A: Due to technical limitation (maximum number of USB endpoints in the chip the adapter uses). But we have a workaround for this that will be part of a future firmware.

The immediate clue is in the wires. Not only do the data lines mis-match, but the power line for the controller uses 3.3 volts, and USB supplies 5 volts.

You can not simply replace a PlayStation 2 controller connection with a USB connection, and expect it to work. I've used a SmartJoy Plus and i quite like it. It works with all versions of Windows from 98 to 7. It also works in linux.

USB controller on the PS2? : r/ps2 is it possible to use a USB controller on the PS2? : r/ps2

i have this one and it works great.....if you have a xbox controller i suggets buying a wireless reciever for it that you can use in your pc. Detected as a Digital controller with the Left and Right buttons continuously pressed. The strum bar is only mapped to one button, regardless of the strumming direction.

Sometimes the USB hub just stops working. Reboot is usually the best solution. They can shut off if something attempts to draw too much power. Since a playstation 2 controller expects a 7V input for the rumbler and USB output 5V, I wonder if the converter just disables the rumbler or if it has a voltage converter. The total draw may still exceed the amperage your USB port can put out (supposed to be 1A but most PC USB2.0 ports can only do about 1/2 of that). Just some helpful stuff: You're - You are, Your - Your car, They're - They are , Their - Their car, There - Over there. Windows supports wired 360 controllers by default, but wireless controllers will need a special USB adapter. If you find the correct drivers for your controller to USB device, anything else you do may not matter. That would be the first thing I'd try. You seem pretty adept, especially if you want to write your own HID driver. But here are some thoughts.
