About this deal

When Charlie McGuffin gets stressed, something a little bit different happens: he turns into an animal!

A Jewish girl-turned-spy must infiltrate an elite Nazi boarding school in this highly commercial, relentlessly nail-biting World War II drama! Ik las dit boek samen met mijn zevenjarige zoon. Al onmiddellijk werd er met grapjes gegooid. En ze waren nog grappig ook! Zelfs voor mij, toch wel een vijfentwintig jaar ouder dan de doelgroep.. With the help of his three best friends, Charlie needs to find a way of dealing with his crazy new power - and fast!Oh, zo zo zó heerlijk dit soort kinderboeken. Daarom zou iedereen kinderboeken moeten lezen. Je kúnt niet anders dan hier dolgelukkig van worden. HET IS ZO GRAPPIG!!! A stand-out star, offering belly-busting hilarity.. Head and shoulders above the competition. - The Guardian, Children's Books of the Month The mind, however, is a slippery fish, and the subconscious is perhaps the greasiest of all the kippers. Writing a novel was about to give me a lesson in just how sneaky the mind can be.

And all of that, unbidden, spilled into my writing. Charlie, the hero, changes into animals whenever he is anxious, whenever his problems feel insurmountable and he feels alone.A brilliant debut... a book that is not only laugh-out-loud funny but offers important advice about coping with anxiety." The Mail on Sunday, Children's Books of the Month I originally set out to write a story about a boy who changes into animals. I wanted it to be funny and a little bit disgusting (because I suspected that's what kids really wanted to read), but I had no intention of writing anything serious.

Lou’s life is not going to plan, but maybe she can rescue the situation with a little help from her performance club and a second-best friend who is into stuffed stoats.A great choice for anyone looking for light reading that will make them laugh out loud. I’d heard a lot of talk about this book and how funny it was but also how it was a great representation of what it’s like to have anxiety. I’m sometimes a bit wary of hype but I’m particularly interested in children’s books that deal with mental health or emotional wellbeing so I decided that this was a book that I really needed to read, I’m so glad that I did.Fantastically ridiculous and silly in equal measures . . . will have readers snorting with giggles - The Northern Echo The Power of Reading: How Books Help Develop Children’s Empathy and Boost Their Emotional Development A clever and hilarious story with a hero you'll love... I'm already looking forward to the next one Parents In Touch Previously published as 'THE MUSLIMS', this was the winner of the Little Rebels Award in June 2018. The text has been revised, expanded and re-illustrated.*

Charlie McGuffin has inexplicably turned into a spider, and can’t work out why. He’s not Spider-Man. He’s not been exposed to radiation. He just changed. As soon as Charlie tells his friends, they want to try everything they can to help him find out why it happens, proving that anything is possible with a little help from your friends. And that's one of the reasons my book is close to my heart. What started as something fun and frivolous transformed into a cathartic exercise, exploring the feelings and problems I had as a child, and then with time I realised that perhaps it could be something to help other children - and their parents, caregivers and teachers - to open up a discussion on difficult subjects in a fun, non-threatening way. Why we need to help children deal with their feelings Education Shed Ltd, Severn House, Severn Bridge, Riverside North, Bewdley, Worcestershire, UK, DY12 1AB

Sam Copeland Press Reviews

Until Jenny Pearson came on the scene with The Super Miraculous Journey of Freddie Yates and The Incredible Record Smashers.
