About this deal

If you take your thermos flask to the local coffee shop and ask them to fill it up instead of having your drink served in a disposable coffee cup with plastic lid then you will be reducing the amount of landfill and waste material which gets produced from these establishments. Win win in our books! Why ‘Thermos’? The flask has a BPA-free cup with enough space for several decent-sized cups of teas. The cup also helps ensure the flask remains leak proof. The Okadi is a 2.5L flask which offers extremely good capacity for both family and group adventures. It is fabricated from stainless steel which gives excellent core strength and durability. This thermos will last for a long period of time indeed.

Capacity: 1 litre (33oz) / Temperature test: 0 hrs 90°c, 90 mins 85.5°c, 4 hrs 79.1°c, 6 hrs 74.3°c, 8 hrs 69.9°c, 24 hrs 44.5°c / Made of food grade 18/8 stainless steel that doesn’t impart or retain flavour / Lid doubles as a mug ensuring you always have a cup handy / Silicon sleeve / Drinking stopper opens and closes with a slight turn / Additional standard stopper for optimum heat retention included / Tapered design for easier handling / Large mouth opening is easy to fill and clean. BUY NOW: PRIMUSEQUIPMENT.COM Since the American manufacturer, Thermos, came to fame, the term has become slang for vacuum-insulated flasks. Although the terms are largely interchangeable, the original scientific phrasing is 'vacuum flask'. The Oneisall measures 34.5 x 11.5 x 11.5 cm and weighs 1.2kg. For a large capacity flask, those are not actually bad specifications. And it really does look the business! Beautiful lines as they say! The GSI employs a thin but reliable stainless steel wall that reduces the weight and also increases the internal space of the bottle. According to GSI, you can store 25% more liquid than any other flask for the same size. We hand-washed each flask with hot soapy water and let them air dry overnight, then ranked them on smell. If you are searching for a great value thermos flask at the lower end of the budget range then we don’t think you can do much better than the SMARDY Vacuum Insulated Water Bottle. This is a compact size flask with a smallish capacity of 430ml – this is only enough for two cups of tea. For a group hike, you need to keep lots of liquid on board for everybody to get a cup. If this is your plan then you should buy a thermos which can hold lots of liquid for the whole squad. It is definitely more space efficient to use one big flask for the group rather than several small, individual flasks. If you think about it, the majority of a flask is wasted space and not actually used for carrying liquid – it is there for the heat insulation. Better to just carry one big flask. The specifications state that hot drinks will stay steamy up to eight hours, whilst cold ones will be cool for 12. When tested, this insulated flask over-performed, keeping contents chilled for up to three days.

The original and, judging from the results of our temperature test, still the best. This stainless steel flask is very durable, with a silicone base to protect against dents. The two-part stopper closes securely yet pours easily and has an integrated cup. In terms of outright heat-holding performance for up to 8 hours, nothing can touch the Ultimate Series. It was the best-performing flask we tested overall. It is relatively lightweight too. And if you’re concerned that the 500ml capacity will be too small, it’s worth noting that Thermos also makes a larger 900ml version. Full SpecificationsUsing a flask is actually also a very responsible thing to do in terms of recycling – apparently 99.75% of disposable coffee cups are not recycled! We've reviewed the best Thermos flasks, along with vacuum flasks from Chilly's, Stanley and Hydro Flask, and cheaper own-brand products from Wilko, Asda and Argos The Stainless King series blends modern technology with a dash of the past, providing reliable products that stand up to the demands of everyday life. Ideal for transporting hot and cold drinks for picnics with friends and family, this large 1.2L Thermos flask features a stainless steel interior and exterior making it cool to touch when filled with hot liquid and sweat-proof when filled with cold liquid. It features Thermos vacuum insulation technology, keeping liquids hot or cold for 24 hours.

The downside of this approach is that a high capacity flask will be big and bulky. There’s no getting away from it. However, if you’re able to split your gear equally between all members of the team (e.g. one walker carries lunch, another carries the picnic blanket etc) then overall you will use less space than if you each carried smaller flasks.

Glass-lined flasks are more dangerous because glass walls can also shatter To be safe, it's best to empty the contents after 24 hours.
