About this deal

Forget about solving all these crimes; the signal triumph here is (spoiler) the heroine’s survival. Lots of drama, misdirection, humour, relationship interactions, fabulous story telling in this murder mystery. Brilliant, brilliant book . . . this was one of the best books I’ve read in a long time’ Reader review, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We ask experts to recommend the five best books in their subject and explain their selection in an interview. Death Comes to Marlow is a warm and humorous murder mystery that challenges even the eccentric members of the Marlow Murder Club, although they of course have no intention of being beaten, even by an impossible crime. And don’t worry, they also find time to unravel the crossword puzzle.

While this definitely isn’t a thriller with lots of plot twists, the characters in this book are what make this book a standout. I truly hope this series continues as I would love to see what Judith solves next. The ending made it seem like there might be another book in this series, so fingers crossed there! Brilliant, brilliant book . . . this was one of the best books I’ve read in a long time ’ Reader review, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Never a dull moment, lots of red herrings, plenty of humour and a plot worthy of Agatha!!!’ Reader review, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Brilliant, brilliant book. Catchy, funny, witty, well written . . . this was one of the best books I’ve read in a long time’ Reader review, Given this close association it’s no surprise that just as detectives and detective fiction have provided the answers to many crossword clues, crosswords have featured prominently in many notable murder mysteries. Arguably, the most famous crossword in crime fiction appears in Agatha Christie’s Curtain, where Captain Hastings’ attempt to solve a cryptic clue inadvertently causes him to intervene in a murder attempt, although other examples are available.

This was such a fast, fun read! I flew through it in a few days and absolutely loved it. My only small complaint is that the murder felt a bit... elaborate to me when it was revealed how the killer went about things.A delightful story that involves an unlikely trio of amateur detectives. Loved the English setting the quirky characters." A wonderful follow up to the first book. Just goes to prove the combined power of good friendships, no matter what their ages.

An absolute joy to read. Funny, entertaining, and beautifully written” —B. A. Paris, for Marlow Murder Club Judith and Co have to bring all their bonkers interview techniques and leaps of logic to play to uncover the truth.” — Crime Fiction LoverBrilliant, brilliant book . . . this was one of the best books I've read in a long time' Reader review, Friends. Sir Peter cannot be left for dead like that…Judith and the Marlow Murder Club are on the case. Put on your thinking cap. It’s time for another round with the brainiest trio of amateur sleuths on either side of the Atlantic. As anodyne as a village fair and as fiendishly clever as one of the many crossword clues embedded in the story.
