About this deal

Well I fish in waters with a lot of Norfolk reeds. The CM90 isn't touched by them at all where other lines I have tried get rather frizzy. My experience - can't comment on yours. Agreed fantastic abrasion qualities in my experience, heavy weed, or Norfolk reeds in 15lb no line damage at all The anti-twist attributes in CM90 will reduce wind knots, tangles and allow you to cast with confidence and reduce disturbance in the swim.

i liked it in 15lb it does stand out in mid water but i found it sunk very well and a lot better than most other mono's i have used I found it quite decent apart from for abrasion resistance, compared to the gr60 on my other spools it didnt even come close I have to admit I prefer the loaded version more than the original Synchro XT. What issues have you found with it? Of course! Decades of producing lines for the UK market means that Berkley knows exactly what we want. CM70 is a dark, muddy-brown colour, which blends in exceptionally well over many lakebed types, while CM90 is a classic weedy green colour which blends in over, well, weed… and loads of other stuff!I very rarely use it naked. My preference if rules allow os to use with a leadcore leader on a helicopter setup but I will use lead clips with tubing otherwise. I occasionally use it naked with a running lead setup using the Enterprise safety run rings CB2000 is what Berkley is calling their “ultimate braided main line”. It’s not only model-thin, meaning new PB casting distances are guaranteed, it’s tough too. 100% Dyneema PE Fibers are spun together to create a line which has zero-stretch, zero-water absorption and has a supreme strength-to-diameter ratio. And talking of diameter, the 25lb version measures a measly 0.16mm – and it only tops out at 0.25mm for the 45lb version which is perfect for spodding work. Interesting about the CM90, I’m on the Trent which is low and clear and I can’t buy a bite in the daytime, not a single one in 9 days this season. I had 20-odd fish last weekend (Barbel, Bream, Chub and Carp) and every one was between 9pm and 5am. Hmm mm... started spooling it up and noticed any kinks stay kinked.. tying knots pigtailed badly.. not happy with it so took it off.

What’s more, this Berkley Connect CM70 Mono is also exceptionally abrasion resistant. Friction wearing down patches on your line is one of the biggest causes of line failure out there. In fact, you can have the strongest line in the world but if it isn’t abrasion resistant then it won’t last you five minutes on the bank. Fishing line undergoes friction at every stage of the angling process, whether that is when you’re reeling in (running the line through the line guides) or casting out (with the line whipping off the reel). Although you can invest in carp rodswith low friction guides and reelswith low friction spool lips, eliminating all friction in these scenarios is impossible. However, with a line that offers this kind of abrasion resistance, you can be confident that it won’t let you down when you need it the most and it significantly reduces your chances of line failure in intense carp fishing scenarios.

As with all lines, ignore the BS and go by the diameter. I’ve used the .38 rated as 15lb in the UK. Will clearly break much higher than 15lb but does behave well for a .38 line and I found it to be tough and cast pretty well for a heavy-ish mono yea I used cm90 for 2 years, lovely behaved line but I'm sure the most see through type coloured lines get you more day time bites. Anybody knows what’s going on with technium line ? Can’t get hold of it anywhere and really need some 12lb to respool :( going to have to try something else I think.
