About this deal

Other smarts include Multi View, which splits the screen for viewing multiple sources at once – I’ve never quite figured out how to bring it up or get rid of it. Alexa, Bixby and Google Assistant are built-in, if you want to chat to the TV. It’s was a pleasure to use – certainly more of a pleasure than it is to listen to – and it gives every impression of being made to survive the long haul. It’s great value for money.

Never miss another moment. With Multi View, you can play your mobile content alongside the TV program, all at once, on the same screen. Simply cast your phone to your TV with screen mirroring to split the big TV screen *. Handy if you want to keep an eye on the football score whilst watching a movie. Motion is neither here nor there. I could never get it to the point where there wasn’t a little stutter or judder. If you choose the custom option, I’d suggest keeping it low; with the Lumerian Star sequence in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, higher Judder settings introduced blur with fast movement. Sound quality – Not so pretty What's worth noting, though, is what you don't get with the Q60A. 8K resolution is off the table, as are the wide viewing angles of more premium sets. This is also an edge-lit set, which helps to keep it slim but will mean the brightness isn't consistent across the screen, and could negatively impact HDR performance. Samsung's innovative Dual LED TV technology balances warm and cool tones on the TV. So whether you're watching a documentary set in the Sahara or a movie scene in the depths of the ocean, you'll always get more truthful colour and bolder contrast. If you want to connect your TV to a blu-ray player, games console, soundbar or soundbase then you'll need a HDMI cable.Other features include Multi-View (up to two simultaneous video feeds) and an Ambient Mode for calming screensavers or photography. You even get Filmmaker Mode, which turns off most of your picture processing – ostensibly to cleave closer to 'what the creator intended' – but for a screen at this price point we couldn't recommend leaving the picture to fend for itself. There’s a choice of two remotes: a standard zapper and a more elegant smart effort. The latter is more satisfying to use, presenting a better layout. It also has a built-in microphone for voice commands. The TCL Q7/Q750G QLED is a very good QLED TV, but like the TCL QM8/QM850G QLED, it's buggy, with poor upscaling capabilities and terrible color accuracy pre-calibration. The Hisense U7K is a much better TV overall and a better value. Bixby and Alexa are built into your Samsung Smart TV. Discover an optimal entertainment experience and advanced voice control in your connected smart home. Changing the volume, source, channel and more is as easy as asking. This TV also works with Smart Things devices (requires SmartThings app and internet connection, other devices sold separately).

There’s less to say about the Samsung Q65T’s sound. There is Samsung’s Adaptive Sound, but it isn’t allowed much room to play given the set’s 20W speaker system has a rather reined sense of dynamism. Subtitles and audio description information displayed on electronic programme guide more info panel One Remote Control: control all of your compatible devices and content with one universal remote control. The best budget QLED TV we've tested is the Hisense U6/U6K. It's a well-rounded option with surprisingly good picture quality. This Hisense has excellent contrast, so dark scenes look amazing in a dark room, with little blooming around bright areas of the screen. It also has good peak brightness in SDR and decent reflection handling, so glare isn't an issue in a brighter room. It has an excellent color volume, making this TV very colorful overall. It's bright enough in HDR for a pleasant viewing experience, and just like the Hisense U8/U8K and Hisense U7K, it supports both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision HDR, although it doesn't support advanced DTS audio formats like those models do. The Q65T doesn’t support VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), so it can’t adjust its refresh rate to match a game’s frame rate for a smoother response. That also means no AMD FreeSync and none of Samsung’s TVs are Nvidia G-Sync certified. Picture quality – Pretty imagesThe Panasonic HX800 is its closest LED TV competitor, and that offers a more cinematic image (it's what Panasonic is known for), and equivalently good gaming performance. The Samsung's smart TV system is better and easier to use, which may be an important factor.
