Part 3 looks at areas of particular focus for PRINCE2 Agile ® like the Agilometer and how to manage communications, releases and contracts. There are plenty of diagrams and I found it OK to read, not too dry.

Agile practices and methodologies have been gaining more acceptance over the last few decades. PRINCE2 Agile explores using PRINCE2 methodologies in an Agile environment. While there are separate certifications for PRINCE2 Agile courses, it isimportantfor every PRINCE2 practitioner to know how to tailor PRINCE2 to their unique project needs. The book covers agile basics, PRINCE2 ® basics and has a useful section on what to fix and what to flex. The author also explains one of the key concepts within PRINCE2 – that of tolerances. These are targets which can be set as a range and give a project manager or team manager room to manoeuvre when things don’t go according to plan. He then goes on to explain how the two tolerance areas which are flexible in PRINCE2 Agile are scope and quality, whereas these are often seen as fixed in a waterfall project management approach.But PRINCE2 ® itself is not a difficult method to learn – and the official manual is actually pretty easy to follow and understand. The latest 2023 edition is even easier, and I feel like I can say that with some confidence as I was one of the reviewers for the text. Keith Richards is one of the authors and that gives me immense confidence in the quality and applicability of the text. I’m sure the other authors are great too, but I don’t think I know any of them! I hadn’t realized that Keith was behind this book. Whichever option you choose, the PRINCE2 exams you sit will be the same in terms of style and structure. PRINCE2 Foundation Exam Chapters 7-23 is the main body of the manual where PRINCE2 is tailored to operate in an agile environment.

To be honest, I didn’t think about buying any other books at the time, as those were enough alongside the course material from my training provider. It covers the important things to know for agile success, how to switch from ‘ordinary’ PRINCE2 ® to the agile version, merging all the methods together and other topics that allow you to get agile going in your organization. If you are studying for your exam and wondering what to read to supplement your learning, here are my recommendations. 1. Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2 ®

Random PRINCE2 exam questions are selected from a sample PRINCE2 exam and must be answered within the specified time as if under PRINCE2 exam circumstances. For people who are new to agile, this part of the book is also useful because the author provides explanations and definitions of popular agile tools such as stand-ups, retrospectives, burn charts, and sprints.
