But for me a big distraction is that they have added blood effects and dismemberment to the zombies; having the screen go red when you use your cricket bat doesnt add a great deal to the game and for me has cost the game a point because its not necessary.

I personally am a huge fan of the Left4Dead series, and even though some zombie games are all too simular, Left4Dead has a feel of its own and they've upped their game in Left4Dead 2. With new mutant types as well this is the perfect mix of survival horror and all out first person shooter action.
