Don't get me wrong, I have the original deluxe edition which is gorgeous, but the book edition is simply far more a convenient presentation for the shelf and regular use. It doesn't sound like the band challenged themselves or grew in any meaningful way over the last thirteen years. I have described listening to this version as being similar to listening to a recent Pink Floyd reissue or Nine Inch Nails vinyl remaster.

Formed in 1990 in Los Angeles, California – Tool emerged with a heavy metal sound on their first studio album, Undertow in 1993.Due to inventory and accounting purposes, we do not exchange items received for different items than originally purchased. I just want to play the record and having to open the big heavy book and take a new disc out after every side feels like more effort than it’s worth. Fear Inoculum scored well with critics with the exception of Pitchfork, which usually I take with a grain of salt because they are often critical of just about any album they review. But even still, after thirteen years of waiting for new material, Tool fans deserved a better thought out album.What prompted me to do so: just listened to disc two and felt the need to concur-mastering and pressing are awe inspiring.

Two years later we made the move to our present address, 35 The Headrow, where we have remained ever since. It might even be better than Lateralus, but I'll reserve judgement until I've lived with it for a couple of months. As a Tool album, I hope every fan will find in this something to which they can relate and I hope this review, such as it is, will inspire people to see this as a 'beyond' Tool work.Reading about how Keenan worked on the album around his wine making, it feels like that half focused effort bled through onto the song writing.
