About this deal

Thus, there are parallels between the century that separates the book’s original publication and now that can be drawn. It would have been fantastic if Constable had used the initiative to bring this 1901 softcover back to life, instead, as an authentic facsimile and an alternative to the Limited Edition hardback.

I would include Salem’s Lot in that list, but I already read it last year during my Dark Tower journey. But, if there were fewer inconsistencies it could've been the dogs doodahs with still enough distinction between this and the original. However, this is worth mentioning because — even with this defect in the text I was reading — Stoker’s brilliant prose still found a way to shine through. Sobre a história, nem tem como não elogiar o quão interessante é ler Drácula, não só por ser a figura base do que entendemos por vampiros hoje em dia, como também as outras leituras que vamos fazendo de elementos da época. In this new Horror Classic gamebook, YOU can choose whether to play the part of the vampire-hunter, or of his arch-enemy, the vampire count himself! What followed in Dracula's book cover design reflects what aspects of the novel publishers thought would appeal to the reading public. Had a root about the loft and found this, still surprisingly intact from the last time I read it, so when I was about twelve, which doesn't bode well and means that it was proably crap.

It seems to be more straightforward than Elisabeth Hand´s sequel to Frankenstein´s Bride, which somehow put the bride and Praetorius to Weimar´s Berlin. Although Bram Stoker did not invent the vampire, the influence his novel has had on pop culture is undeniable; Stoker essentially defined the modern form of Count Dracula. This should have been a page to get spot-on but, sadly, the 2012 edition doesn't really follow the original page layout that closely. The novel's themes of fear, desire, and the battle between good and evil are explored in a way that continues to resonate with readers today.

At least it's one of those 'you can all join in' threads that proper horror boards do as surely, everyone has a copy of Dracula?
