While there was a bit of a good premise, and some interesting (if somewhat predictable) profiling going on, the trite story line and characters make it highly unlikely I would venture further into this series. i did not have a good time reading this at all and i love to feel uncomfortable when reading extreme horror. FYI: I’m a freak so of course I went in blind and loved every fucked up minute but I’d suggest checking triggers before you read. On the other side we see just how Jefferson works and how he tries to work out the killers next move. It’s definitely a nod to Funny Games (one of my favorites ) but filled with gore, violence, and bodily fluids.This book will have you reading well into the night and will I promise leave you breathless with anticipation for his next case. for me extreme horror needs those things or else it feels like torture porn for the sake of torture porn which is not why i read extreme horror. I love finding new authors with a back catalogue to explore and would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys dark, pacy crime novels.
