Got a 2ml sample in my secret scent box, it opens very fruity and I must say it is unique however for me it’s way too synthetic and feels cheap.

All perfume lovers owe it to themselves to track down the original Insense and REALLY experience what Givenchy set out to do in the first place.

It does replicate (to an extent) the sunshine serenity of the yellow and true Insensé but not its disarming charisma. Insense Ultramarine is unfortunately overshadowed by the original Insense (which sits in the throne of the "discontinued rarities kingdom"). Blind bought this but can't find the original in this flanker at all, it must be buried in the cheap oceanic sea note that dominates this scent. They all seem to smell so flat and artificial, like you work cleaning up chemical spills in a perfume factory, as opposed to actually wearing something you wanted to smell.

I have to admit that having originally worn the original Insense a bit uncomfortably (not anymore though! Now I know a thing or two about fragrances and if I take one good look at the pyramid, I can tell that this is most defenitely not for me. BTW, it actually somehow reminds me of Creeds Millesime Imperial without the ambergris, so if you're a fan of that, this is a much cheaper alternative. A comparison between the two in my humble opinion is a mistake because they are two completely different concepts that only share the name Insense.

Ooo one of my favorite, wore it very often and lasting was impresive to but now stopped fr a while cus i was getting bored ! When first applied it does have a really fruity opening, but that is where I think the similarities with the original end. It's sufficiently different from other aquatics (Cool Water, Chrome, AdG, etc) to add to a collection of these.There is a tinge of watermelon, but it isn't too intrusive, and the calone is heavily disguised by the florals and vetiver.

Its in your face, loud, acute and feels like the same type of scent of car air fresheners that give you a pounding headache, very artificial. I am reviewing a 2001 bottle and I must admit I get no watermelon sweetness, just an undertone of unripe fruit that makes the overall salty character a bit more playful. The most distinguished notes are aquatic notes, watermelon, black currant, iris, less powerful magnolia, tobacco, mint, bergamont and carnation. When we talk about Givenchy, it’s hard not to believe that is about another highest quality cologne, isn’t it?

You have probably smelled the scent of Ultramarine Insense either on someone or on something that smells like it. That's also the reason why it's hard to find and expensive when you find it: People who KNOW how good it is have bought most of it up. A succulent watermelon note combines with black currant, galbanum and bergamot for a delicious fruity opening. In the end, despite the tobacco notes, it doesn’t bother me at all and the smell keeps fresh and strong for hours.
