About this deal

Husband Steve Bland, from Cheshire, appeared on Lorraine this morning to discuss the memoir his late wife wrote for their son before she died. Yes her cancer is covered but actually it is more about her as a woman and her life, which was so lovely to be able to read. Steve, 40, from Cheshire, lost his wife Rachael to breast cancer in September 2018 which she documented on her BBC podcast You, Me and the Big C over a two year period. She found something positive after her terrible news and it was to create this magic book, I am so glad she did .

The pair deferred their places when her health deteriorated - and when she died in September, Steve knew he had to carry on in her memory. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. The podcast has continued after her death, and Steve appeared on a special edition to talk about his late wife.

I knew there were always some nasty little cells lurking about in there waiting to catch me out again. The funds will help Macmillan continue to provide vital support and do whatever it takes to be there for everyone, from day one of their cancer diagnosis. The podcast was set up by Steve’s late wife, the BBC journalist and broadcaster Rachael Bland, who died in September 2018 from breast cancer. I feel so privileged to have been able to read this wonderful book for Freddie, with Rachael's wisdom and anecdotes.

The BBC presenter died after a tragic battle with breast cancer in September last year at the age of 40. A fantastic podcast, with wit, realism and a real warmth and I'll be honest the Podcast has wobbled massively since her tragic death.

As the festive season rolls around, workplaces face the challenge of balancing productivity and holiday cheer. The thought that you have to grow up without me there to cuddle you when you’re sick, had a bad dream, or just want your mummy is too much to bear. So when you can, try and delve back into your memories, Freddie, and picture Mummy laying face-to-face with you on the bed, tickling your arms and telling you how very very much I love you.Through his ongoing commitment in helping others and determination to live life to the fullest, Steve is clearly making the most of every moment.

We're going to sit there and we will be 70 years old, sat on a bench by the coast eating our fish and chips.More than anything I think stepping back from the pod will give me chance to grieve for my friends, because we lost the girls and then we were back in the studio recording,” she says. She said on the podcast: "When Steve and I met we would have these sweet conversations about when we grow old. Amy had only met Freddie on “a handful of occasions” pre-pandemic, but now they’ve built “a fantastic relationship”.
