Like many African flags, it mixes the colors that represent Africa as a whole with a symbol of the nation to create a unique Ugandan flag that embodies the nation and its people. The grey crowned crane is considered to be a bird with a peaceful and gentle nature which represents the people of Uganda and their nature.The three colours are representative of native ethnic groups of Africa (black), Africa's sunshine (yellow), and African brotherhood (red being the colour of blood, through which all Africans are connected).
