About this deal
I need to stop taking recommendations from TikTokš ... at this point my planned tbr won't make it far
I realized Manhattan was no longer the place I call home. Iād call anywhere home if it meant I was with her, because my home is no longer a physical place. My home is her. Also what drove me mad were dialogues, to be specific - how men talked, cus they didn't talk, they GROWLED, ROARED, HISSED EVERY DAMN TIME THEY OPENED THEIR MOUTH wtf are they dogs??? One minute you're a struggling graphic designer in LA that's finally coming to terms with being single forever, and the next you're flying to New York in a private jet to get engaged to your ex-boyfriend's older brother. He have a painting room in his penthouse in hope one day sheāll be with him (painting is her hobby) And mind you they just met. This line alone ruined the mood and then and there I knew it was going to go downhill for me. It was catered and written around the tropes and Ā«spiceĀ» doesnāt matter how they donāt just serve tho
This book has no interest being this long, cus nothing actually happened, it was a mix of random scenes put together. and I could not stand the fmc, was it because Iām from california with west coast elitism, maybe. but she spent the entire book like āI hate california so much, how did I ever live in california, itās nothing compared to NYCā like babe shut up and enjoy your city then PLS, get your transplant ass out of here So this went well and I'm happy. Starting this I had bottom low expectations and it helped a lot while reading this.I wanted to cut her vocal chords with kindergarten safety scissors so I wouldnāt see her speak again. Now if I have been informed with this at the start I feel like I couldāve a different review? Maybe?
