About this deal

The NewMouth editorial team analyzed dozens of different products available today to determine the available products. I guess it depends how sensitive you are to the intensities etc, but maybe a soft bristled head will help some. Triple tone of high-med-low means the pressure sensor feature has been deactivated. The battery level light indicator will also blink amber 1 time to confirm deactivation. However, the subtle differences that do exist can potentially make a big difference to you and your experience and 1 brush might better suit you and another.

This is just 1 part of the BrushSync feature, the 6100 is the only brush handle in the ProtectiveClean range to offer the BrushSync mode pairing. Most Sonicare brushes have 1-2 cleaning modes unless you go up to the most premium model which offers 3-5; whereas Oral-B has 1-4 modes until the most premium models that offer 5-6 modes. Are the movements (62000 vs 31000) the same on the DiamondClear and the *100 series? I saw the discussion above but wasn’t sure to what conclusion you came. The cut and configuration of the bristles are different on each of these heads to achieve different results. The stand itself supports voltages of 100-240v, meaning if you travel with the charging stand you need only a plug adapter rather than a voltage adapter. Pressure sensors and a reminder system like BrushSync help prevent these issues. These are just as important as the timer and pacer, but less common, providing the 4100 added value. Could you please answer two questions? I read that the Sonicare 4100 sold now has less power than it used to have (you said it has 32K brush strokes vs. 62). Do you know when they changed it? I bought mine four years ago (it doesn’t have 2 intensities) and wondered which I have. It has all of the essential features of an electric toothbrush, plus a few more for good measure, all at a very reasonable price.

At the same time, the brush head replacement light will flash, although this is nigh on impossible to actually see. Frequent travelers will gain value from the 5100 that comes with the travel case and extra cleaning modes. The ProtectiveClean 4100 is an excellent value, coupling top-of-the-line performance with an exceptionally reasonable price. It isn't the cheapest option out there if you are shopping on a budget, but only costs a little bit more than the most economical options while offering a big boost in performance. ConclusionWith the 5100 and 6100 the brush handles have an extra button below the power button to change the cleaning modes, but also the names of the modes, complete with an LED below that. The exact way that this happens is not fully understood, but it is thought that very high frequencies cause liquids to move and create “hydrodynamic forces” which damage the plaque layer in hard to reach areas ( 1). This intense vibration agitates fluids that surround the teeth and can loosen and remove dental plaque in locations that are beyond the physical touch of the toothbrush. To have this effect the waves actually need to be working at a much higher speed, in the ultrasonic range, greater than 20,000 Hz. As you can see, the 1100 is the most affordable. This isn’t too surprising given it has the least features.
