About this deal

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I'll be purchasing my own copy as a "go to" guide to sit on the bookshelf for my future financial decisions. Laura Whateley is an award-winning journalist and The Times ’ consumer champion writing the agony aunt column, ‘Troubleshooter’, and ‘Millennial Money’ in the Saturday Money section. I would recommend this book to anyone who is beginning their journey to financial literacy and wants to gain an understanding of the basics of money. EDIT: Like a year ago I tried to join the beta program for Monzo US and never heard back, but I just checked and Monzo is now in the US!

her experience as a journalist on the money desk for The Times, The Sunday Times and the Guardian allows her to do something that I'd never experienced she explains money clearly. C onsider the appropriateness of the information having regard to your objectives, financial situation and needs, and seek professional advice where appropriate. Written in a digestible, light-hearted way with personal stories scattered throughout, I love this book and recommend to everyone, no matter how clued up you think you are with finance or how much you feel you are 'destined' to always be terrible with money. This isn't a bad book but I just feel that some of it was pitched at people who really had no idea about the simplest of things. The author explains why we might choose the second most expensive wine on the menu and why we value things more if we’ve had them for a long time. Laura Whateley understands her subject and knows how to explain it in such a way that you will be able to make informed choices about your finances, rather than feeling confused and patronised' THE TIMES About the Laura Whateley is an award-winning journalist and The Times' consumer champion writing the agony aunt column, 'Troubleshooter', and 'Millennial Money' in the Saturday Money section. I also think that this book should be included within the high school curriculum for those in year 10 and 11, it would certainly be far more beneficial to young people who are about to start out in the world than subjects like history and geography.

Claramente siempre va a tener algo de influencia el lugar de residencia del autor, pero en este caso me pareció que no llegaba a justificar la compra del libro, ni por las secciones que si podian llegar a aplicarse a mi situación viviendo en España.The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. The author frequently repeats how difficult and unpleasant saving and investing is, and how she would much rather spend her money on consumer goods. There is a helpful section about how ideas from psychology, such as anchoring and overvaluing sales, can impact the way we handle money. And we’re proud to say, that some of them even ditched their Financial Advisors, after experiencing the value we provide.

Now, everyone’s journey will be different, but we all have the very same opportunity to get better at looking after our money.Money: A User’s Guide by Laura Whateley is a good starting point for people who are well below average when it comes to personal finances. For the beginner, the chapter on saving will be helpful because interest rates, inflation, and a variety of savings accounts are explained. This book is so good that I think everyone in the UK should own a copy and be encouraged to read it annually. From a personal perspective, much of the information I was already aware of thanks to being pretty interested in personal finance anyway, but Whateley's book serves as an easily digestible, vital read for anyone interested in setting themselves up for better personal financial management (and without falling into the trap of demanding you cut out every bit of 'fun' spending as some personal finance hawks do). Recomiendo el libro “El camino simple a la riqueza” para quien quiera algo que vaya en la misma linea y mas completo.
