Simply undo the zip and push down at the base and your pencil case will instantly transform into a cup for your pens and pencils. There is also a center divider/organizational area that is strangely attached to the inside of the back half and not in the middle. Whatever material they use isn't coated and is highly absorbent, so the case has picked up dust, dirt, etc. I don't know much about the company - information is sparse but it's been around since 1938 and is based in Osaka, Japan.
