About this deal

This is a problem, as the only way to judge the remaining print time is to either somehow remember the slicer estimate, or do some arithmetic with the elapsed time and progress bar percentage. However, that was always inaccurate. In Cura, the settings are divided into the machine settings and the print settings. The former describe the printer itself (i.e. how large the print volume is, the number of extruders, etc.), the print settings describe how the filament should be printed (i.e. temperature, speed, etc.). First, you need to create the machine settings for the printer. The Mingda Magician X 3D printer is a good choice for anyone looking for an affordable 3D printer that delivers high-quality prints. It is suitable for both beginners and experienced users and can print a variety of objects from different materials. Advantages & Disadvantages ABS is more difficult to print than PLA. ABS is a petroleum-based thermoplastic. It is strong and durable but can be difficult to print because it warps and shrinks when cooled ( warping). If you’ve used other 3D printers before, you’ll probably be pleasantly surprised by the Magician X in terms of assembly. As already mentioned, almost everything is already assembled. This makes the assembly of the device really easy.

I did find this menu arrangement a bit strange, as the typical operation of loading filament seems to require you to go to two different places to get it done. But as you’ll see, there are other mysterious interface phenomena to come. It’s best to start with the values I’ve given in this article and work your way up to the perfect value in small steps. For the retraction speed, you should take 5 mm/s steps and for the retraction distance 0.1 mm steps. Conclusion Depending on the purpose you have in mind for the model to be printed, different layer heights are possible. When I attempted to clear the bed, I found the stepper motors still engaged and I could not pull the plate forward. I explored the touchscreen to find somewhere to turn off the stepper motors, but alas, there is actually no way to do this! I had to power off the machine to release the print bed. Basically, it meant you were powering off and on each time there was a print failure. This should not be the case. Extrude panel on the the Magician X 3D printer [Source: Fabbaloo] The Mingda Magician X is supplied with power via a three-pin IEC cable. The power supply is thus integrated here and is supplied with the usual mains voltage of 240 volts. The two SD card holders on the right side of the device are similarly practical as the tool compartment. Here you can store SD cards that you are not currently using. At first glance, you might almost think they are SD card slots, but the actual SD card slot is on the front. Ultra silent operation I tested the filament out detection process as my small PLA coil ran out during a print of the second test GCODE file provided by MINGDA, and it worked perfectly. Note that the coil provided is insufficient to print both. Successful 3D print made on the Magician X 3D printer with a filament runout [Source: Fabbaloo] PLA is a biodegradable and compostable thermoplastic made from renewable resources such as corn starch or sugar cane. It is the most common 3D printing filament and the easiest to print. Calibrating the retraction is important to get the best results from your Magician X. To calibrate the retraction, you can print a calibration object. There is also a simple retraction test in the Calibration Shapes plugin.

A slower print speed gives the filament more time to cool and cure. The correct printing speed is therefore not only dependent on the 3D printer, but also on the filament used. The Magician X has an auto leveling system where the nozzle physically touches the build plate. The printer automatically warms up before leveling – a nice touch. If the flow rate is set too high, over-extrusion will occur, which can lead to various print errors. There is simply too much filament being extruded per second that has to go somewhere. Excessive stringing or the formation of blobs can be the result. The surface of the print bed of the Mingda Magician X 3D printer is made of textured glass, which results in a very even surface and provides good print bed adhesion. The printer’s heated bed can be set to a temperature of up to 110°C, allowing printing with a wide range of filament types. And to increase the print bed adhesion of the first layer on the print bed, you should slightly increase the extrusion width of the first layer with TPU.This is especially true for filament pliers, which are unfortunately not included with the Magician. Filament pliers not only help you to cut the filament cleanly. It also allows you to remove any unattractive features such as overhangs or print-related auxiliary constructs after printing. First, of course, you need a model file. The Magician X uses GCODE files that contain instructions for the printer. For your first print, you can use a sample file from the included SD card if you don’t have your own GCODE file yet. The hotends of two 3D printers can be very different, which can significantly affect the print temperature. For example, the ideal print temperature for the same PLA filament on two different 3D printer models may differ. This is due to the construction of the hotend. The actual temperature at the nozzle can therefore be several degrees different than the display suggests. Use the arrow keys on the right side of the screen to scroll up and down the files. Locate the GCODE file you want to print and tap its name. The printer will then begin preheating the print bed and extruder. The 4th generation glass bed provides a great build surface for the first layer. As an optional add-on, Mingda also offers flexible magnetic sheets that work on top of the glass bed. This provides an easy way to remove your 3D prints from the bed, without the need to scrape or pry off objects (or let the glass bed cooldown). The glass build surface is compatible with PLA, ABS, and PETG filament. Resume Printing

There are many 3D Printer options out there. Few come with auto-bed leveling (that actually works) and a rigid steel frame with easy-to-tighten belts – in addition to a friendly user experience. Don’t worry about your filament running out in the middle of a 3D Print. The Magician X 3D Printer includes a sensor that will detect the filament and pause the printer before it runs out. This allows you to swap filaments and resume printing, saving any prints that were currently in process. X and Y Belt Tensioner KnobsThe Vyper and Magician have exactly the same values for position accuracy and nozzle diameter. The positional accuracy of both is 0.0125 millimeters for the x and y axes and 0.002 millimeters for the z axis. The diameter of the nozzle is 0.4 millimeters for both. The perfect starting point to do this are the verified default values for different filaments you will find in the next lines. From these starting values, you can further perfect your settings. You will learn how to do this later in the article. PLA Settings at a Glance The Magician X has many useful features that make your life easier when 3D printing. Automatic leveling
