About this deal

Now, that I have run 50 miles in the Adidas Adizero Boston 8, I have noticed some durability issues and have a couple of critiques, but I am largely pleased with the shoes’ snappy and do-everything-well capabilities. Appearance of the Adizero Boston 8 Instead of finding hidden eggs and chocolate bunnies, little 5-year-old Meaghan discovered a lifeless body, face-up in the water.

Upper, the upper now sports a lightweight and breathable mesh coupled with internal reinforcements. Furthermore the three bands have changed slightly and are wider and more visible and positioned in the front part; Adidas has again tweaked the torsion system to improve stability. This system is very similar to the 7 with a slight change in its layout making it wider and longer. This also allows for a bit more boost in the center. In conclusion, Adidas Boston 8 are shoes suitable for amateur runners with an optimized weight. Although they are A2 shoes, they can certainly be used for long, the change in design has made them softer than in the past, precisely to allow them to run longer. As we suggested in our detailed Adidas guide, we believe it is the most interesting model in the Adidas collection, unless you want to use them even in the evening. In this case, we suggest switching to Ultra Boost 19. But for the preparation, the Boston 8 remains an excellent and above all eclectic footwear. Availability Robbe: I’m gonna tell you to take Thomas’s thoughts on these, especially if you enjoyed previous models of the Boston. I mean, I thought this was a good shoe, but it didn’t jump out at me as a go-to. It’s certainly better than a lot of shoes I’ve reviewed this year, but I’m not going to keep them by the front door where my wife can trip over them for weeks on end. That spot is reserved for only the best. She would never know because soon after, she won a few more goldfish at a carnival and got all of them mixed up. Then finally it was a half marathon training run, where their were steady miles completed. The good news is that there was no bad news, yes the lacing was still there, but that could be personal preference, and the shoe didn't feel as flexible but again this could be bedding in, and no doubt will feel more comfortable after putting more miles in.

However, in the "grand scheme of things", the shoe is not fundamentally changed in its "essence", it is always a shoe for races from 10 km to the marathon and for intense training, offering the right compromise between support, cushioning and lightness. Visual Appearance However, I am not sure how it holds up with regard to durability. After 50 miles, I have already noticed some worn areas on the outsole. Particularly, there’s a tear in the rubber at midfoot on the right shoe. Additionally, the upper was comfortable. I did not develop any hotspots, have to fidget with the tongue or feel too restricted in any way. Boost cushioning performs as expectedAfter the Boston Boost 5, I tried versions 6 and 7. However, I did not like them as much as the five, due to their lower heel collar and more sluggish feel. The Boston 8 fits true to size and worked with my foot perfectly. It definitely is not as narrow as some of its predecessors and should fit most feet, but it still has a race-oriented snug fit that may be a bit too tight for some runners. As usual, the front part of the heel has no large padding, the design of Ultra Boost 19 has not been adopted. However we believe that there are no major problems and above all comfort remains exemplary: The box came and was opened to reveal a new pair of Boston 12's and the first impressions were good. They look great, but looks can be deceiving.

The front of the shoe has a different orientation with the 8 having a more horizontal orientation than a vertical found in the 7. Continental sole: the layout has changed slightly, especially for the Torsion system, see below for details. From what emerges from Adidas, the choice was made to allow an improvement in the grip on the ground. We applaud the choice, thinking that it was already a strength of this model. The front, however, is similar to the previous model, the huge presence of rubber makes the shoe very reactive, while the responsiveness of the midfoot support will be somewhat influenced by the soft Boost. Note that the amount of sole has slightly decreased, since the number of visible Boost pieces has gone from 4 to 5. This will therefore make the running behavior vary with respect to Boston 7:

The upper is an improvement too. On the surface, the knitted-mesh upper looks like it would be warm. There aren’t any large pores on the upper to vent heat, but it did a decent job with the Coolever mesh lining in extremely hot (90º F with 85% humidity) running conditions. The family scooped up Bubbles and the funeral procession began. To little Meg, the ten-foot journey to the bathroom seemed like a miles-long death march. As her feet hit the tile floor, Meg laid eyes on the porcelain tomb where Bubbles would be laid to rest. With a dull plop and a sad pull on the handle, Bubbles began his journey into the afterlife. As for the torsion system present in the midfoot, it has been updated including a greater amount of Boost in the central part and the presence of rubber in the outer middle part, which will further improve the stability of the shoe. Between us, it will not affect the behavior of the race much, if not marginally:

I have always questioned whether this system really provides any technical advantage or if just adds to the shoe’s weight. I enjoy running in the Boston 8 and will keep them in my rotation in the future. The shoe has a simple and race-like feel but can handle the rigors of daily training. The upper performs well but feels cheap in hand. I would recommend the Adidas Adizero Boston 8 for any runner that wants a lightweight shoe that they can rely on for anything. My experience with the Adizero Boston lineup

Adidas AdiZero Boston 9 Intro

The Boost midsole won my heart in the Boston 5. The boost is mostly concentrated in the heel and midfoot. The forefoot contains standard EVA. The amount of coverage seems to be the same with bit more added in the midfoot to accommodate the widening of the torsion system and to keep stability consistent. My first run was a short 5k, and again things were positive, soft but responsive and with some speed the shoe came alive. Perhaps the only niggle was the lacing, too tight too loose.... The ratio of firmness to cushion is still spot on and the 8 works well for daily training but didn’t leave me feeling beat up after a longer 12-16 mile run.
