About this deal

With a passion for innovation, SOTO continues to create new products that make outdoor cooking easier, more convenient and more fun! Soto also makes a big thing about the stove having a micro regulator that maintains a consistent output in cold weather. I haven’t had the chance to use the stove in freezing conditions yet but generally I’ve found that regulator stoves don’t perform much differently to standard ones, and the latest models all outperform those of not that many years ago whether they have a regulator or not. The Windmaster’s burner also has a wide flame spread, which makes it easy to cook larger meals. The stove’s controls are easy to use and adjust, allowing for precision flame control. Its three-pronged design also allows for superior stability while using the stove. The Amicus Stove is another great option from Soto, providing a powerful and fast boiling stove that features a wind-resistant design. It has an adjustable flame control and can be used with a variety of fuel canisters. If it’s local trips where gas canister are available and generally not longer than 5-7 days most of the gas stove head are good with a suitable wind shield but in very strong wind they are still affected as the deflector is not so snug and might even fly away.

Furthermore, the stove is designed with a unique windshield that helps to keep the flame from going out in windy conditions. The Soto Amicus stove is compatible with standard isobutane canisters such as Primus, Snow Peak, MSR, and Jetboil. When in use, the dimensions of the Soto Windmaster stove are 5.9 x 5.9 x 3.2 inch (15.0 x 15.0 x 8.0 cm). When stowed, the dimensions are 1.34 x 1.8 x 2.5 inch (3.4 x 4.62 x 6.37 cm). The weight of the stove is 5.0 oz (160g). Cannister stoves suffer in windy conditions as they sit high off the ground. Unlike a remote cannister stove (such as the Spider Kovea), you can’t surround your burner with a windguard as this will risk the gas cannister overheating and exploding. They are designed to keep your trousers clean and prevent rain and moisture from creeping up your leg. Read more These tend to keep most pots firmly in place. We did have a slight reservation with other design elements of the pot support though. It’s a cleverly engineered accessory, but the fact it isn’t physically attached to the burner could make it easy to lose, especially in long grass. Its folding prongs at the ends of the four arms also seem fairly delicate. Camping Lights & Lanterns Don’t let the light stop your adventure! Read More The SOTO WindMaster w/Micro Regulator and 4Flex (One Size) is the perfect companion for outdoor cooking. Boil 2 cups of water in under 2 1/2 minutes in strong winds and gusty weather with the 4 Flex Support for large pots.If you’re an avid camper or hiker, you understand the importance of a good stove in the wilderness. And when it comes to choosing a stove, Soto has always been a reliable brand. In this article, we will compare two of their popular stove models – the Windmaster and the Amicus – and highlight their features, differences, and similarities. Design and Portability One of the most significant differences between the Windmaster and the Amicus is their fuel compatibility. The Windmaster’s regulator is compatible with gas mixtures such as butane and isobutane, but not with 100% propane. The use of 100% propane is prohibited with this stove. To ensure optimal performance, always keep the base of the Windmaster clean and never place it on the ground or in sandy areas. When not in use, remember to keep the plastic cap on the gas canister to keep the valve system clean. Boil 2 cups of water in under 2-1/2 minutes in strong winds and gusty weather. This well-made stove is able to stand up to harsh conditions. The integrated pot that comes with the Primus Lite+ and Jetboil Zip have smaller volumes, which prevented us from testing them with a full liter. We tested the boiling time of the Lite+ using only 0.5 liters of water (making its time seem faster than it would have been otherwise) and the Zip with 0.75 liters. Allow the burner head to dry naturally by sitting out for several hours. To speed up the drying process, a hair dryer may be used.

Soto Windmaster Stove Australian Hiker | Soto Windmaster Stove

Soto Windmaster and Amicus stoves are an excellent choices for anyone looking for a reliable, lightweight, and efficient stove. Their unique design and features make them the ideal choice for any camping trip.Fuel Type: Consider the type of fuel you will be using when selecting a Soto stove. Some models are designed for use with either propane or butane, while others can use both. Like all canister-top designs, with the SOTO Windmaster your cooking pot does sit a fair way off the ground when it’s all set up. This does affect stability slightly, though a gas canister stand helps here. Still, it doesn’t feel worryingly precarious, thanks in large part to the toothed arms of the pot support. Let food soak. Put food and water in the pot when you turn the stove on, then once boiled, turn the fuel off and let the food continue to soak.
