According to the company, the Flow Control Filter Cap is designed to elevate your coffee brewing game by using a pressure-actuated valve to eliminate drip-through and maximize control over the brewing process.With the Prismo you can do the same thing much more easily. Plus, you get the added advantages of a metal filter. If you want a ‘cleaner’ and more transparent cup profile similar to pour over rather than AeroPress, I highly recommend that you try these filters.
Since I usually go for a regular cup of coffee, I fill my mug the rest of the way with hot water to suit my tastes. I typically use a spiraling motion similar to a pour over, intentionally trying to “mix things up” to get some aeration in there (hey, it makes a difference in my head).Cold brew isn’t any more complicated than your standard brew. So actually, you don’t need to use the inverted method, but there is a specific reason why I’d recommend it in this case. Why not see for yourself! Unfortunately, the Prismo was rather underwhelming—even in comparison to the regular AeroPress method. Maybe the measurements ( 20 grams coffee: 50 ml water) in the recipe were a bit off- changing the ratio is probably worth exploring Verdict – Does the Fellow Prismo Deliver as Advertised? Using the Prismo is as easy as using an AeroPress coffee maker – easier in some ways, as you will see. The brewing set-up is nearly identical. Instead of attaching the plastic filter cap and paper filter as standard, screw on the Prismo with its metal filter. In our review of the Prismo, we decided to get a little sciencey with our approach. To mitigate the risk of bias or a placebo effect, we staged a blind taste test experiment.
