About this deal

I hated the way she acted like she owned Ryan just because she knew himj longer and rubbed it in Cyns face.

In this collection, Gauld uses books and the book industry as vehicles for satirizing the COVID-19 pandemic, juxtaposing the triviality of relentless productivity and accomplishment against the pandemic’s stasis. So, this book continues on with the evil librarian defeated and Cyn, the MC, and Ryan, her once crush and now boyfriend head off to musical theatre camp where they hope to focus on theatre and no demons. With Ryan, her crush and now boyfriend by her side, Cyn takes off for summer theatre camp not expecting to encounter demons . I love the way he satirizes the publishing industry, genre fiction, and literary history, among other things. Gauld has created simply illustrated examples of wordplay, a maze where different endings are different levels of success for a book, lists of title puns, and even a “random book review” die.

Cyn does believe she can do this on her own, but she does not want to, and that is part of what makes her a great character. I read the first book so that I wouldn't be lost reading this one - though I think this would stand on its own fine. Cyn is telling the story and fills in the reader on all that happened in the first book so it’s easy to follow the plot even without reading the first.

This page has even spawned a Reddit thread with German readers discussing if the terms are really made up. She is a flawed hero, a girl who wants to keep the people she loves safe, who does not want to ask for help on the risk that they are hurt or lost. The “choose your own adventure”-style strips are fun, as is the Great Book Festival Race board game and the maze puzzle for helping a new book find its place in the market. They should have been saving the mortals in camp from the demons using mortal mystical magic, but none of that happened. Through his sparse lines and few panels, Gauld creates science fiction and fantasy epics, scenes of gothic horror and romantic dramas, complex blueprints and schematics, and yes, even scenes of ordinary and mundane life. Best-selling author Michelle Knudsen brings back all the hilarity and horror (not to mention hot guys) in this sizzling sequel to Evil Librarian. She was a pivotal role in the first book (as Cyn owed her 2 favors from the deal they made in book 1) and should have had a far bigger role in this story, involving pivotal interaction between her, Cyn, Ryan, And Peter.

Revenge of the Librarians’ by Tom Gauld: A Book Review ‘Revenge of the Librarians’ by Tom Gauld: A Book Review

He has a weekly column in the UK Guardian, and his work has also been seen in The New Scientistand The New York Times.Cyn and Ryan rescued Annie and survived the encounter with the demon disguised as a high school librarian. It’s worth a look; some, as I say, are really stand-out, but there’s a lot of classic book titles reimagined, or classic plots slightly tweaked, type stuff. Enough information is given to fill you in on the history, and it's interspersed throughout, there's no info dump, so even if you've just finished book one like I had, you won't be having to skim or even skip over entire paragraphs because they're just back story. I haven’t been reading but this book has a long queue at the library and it’s due soon so I decided to try it.
